Now time for the base makeup part as regards to having bad skin. Read my skincare post here.
For my base makeup, I have found MAC extremely good, and their staff exceptionally helpful over the years; nothing is too much of a problem for them and they are always willing to help you. ASK them to match your foundation perfectly, and don't be afraid of them taking off your makeup (I always think of it as my mask) and putting on their product; it really really makes a difference to have a professional do it for you and select the correct shade. For my foundation, I use their studio fix fluid spf 15 - it provides fantastic coverage that you can build up, and it won't build up the colour. I use the studio finish concealer spf 35 as when it is matched perfectly, it provides exceptional coverage. To finish, I use the studio careblend / pressed powder. Now, you may think that 'oh it's a bit pricey' - but trust me. Everything lasts a longggg long time, and, buying these products will save you the money that you would have wasted elsewhere and with over makeup brands.
Overall, I would say that MAC products provide the best coverage (I have tried all; Lancome, Rimmel, YSL, Chanel, and nothing cuts it like MAC), the widest variation in shades and are simply fabulous.

London Fashion Week February 18th 2012 Post #3: Bernard Chandran
Bernard Chandran's showcase was the last show I saw at London Fashion Week this year; it certainly was a brilliant way to complete an already fantastic day. I was on the front row for this one and received a goodie bag including a makeup set from The Body Shop, hairspray from Label M, and Jelly Belly beans amongst other delights. I have grouped the photos into outfits suitable for work / daytime, outfits suitable for the evening and also the end of the show where the models came out in twos. You'll be pleased to see these photos are better quality than the last posts; a perk of being on the front row.
Outfits suitable for work / daytime:
The below outfit is maybe a bit glittery for the daytime; however it could be toned down with a blazer.
Gorgeous coat; perfect for going on over everything from a suit to a casual day outfit.
Outfits suitable for the evening:Below is my favourite dress (possibly..) from the collection. It is a beautiful nude shade, and glitters fantastically in the light.A bold statement piece:Close up of the shoes:Finally, the end of the show:Bernard Chandran's designs are eloquent; tailored yet feminine with a slight grunge-esque features. In my view, his designs could be put in the same league in terms of style as French Connection, although subtle details such as exposed zips and shoes with wings make his garments that bit more individual.Simplistic hair, subtle eyes and loud lips complimented the clothes perfectly.
His collection included some ideal pieces that could be dressed down for work, beautiful dresses for various events and statement garments if you want to stand out from the crowd.
I'm looking forward to his next show, and in the meantime will endeavour to find some high street clothes which take inspiration from his collection.

London Fashion Week February 18th 2012 Post #2: Spijkers en Spijkers AW 2012/13 Birds of Paradise showcase
Spijkers en Spijkers is a fashion label by identical twins Riet and Truus. They introduced their AW 2012/13 collection at the Freemasons' Hall as part of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout showcase. I enjoyed the Vauxhall Fashion Scout shows last year and so looked forward to the shows this year. They showcase new talent and unlike Somerset House shows, there is a relaxed atmosphere. After sipping on the complimentary Vita Coco water, and having enjoyed a refresh of our makeup courtesy of The Body Shop, we headed down to the hall.
The show started, and it was clear that the 1960s were a huge inspiration for the twins, as well as some 1970s style patterns. Geometric designs, bright accessories, and bob haircuts to match, completed the 60s theme. I thought that all of the pieces were wearable for day to day activities or work, as well as a few glam pieces for the evening. Below are some pictures from the show; I apologise for the bad quality: what with a very bright light at shows and a lot of other objects for my camera to focus on, not all pictures are clear.

I really liked their black feather cape; a gorgeous accessory for the evening.
The colour combinations work really well together; surprisingly the bright red and yellow compliment the duller burgundy and brown fabulously.
The twins!
I look forward to seeing what the twins do next.
